Born in Montevideo, Uruguay, Ricardo moved with his family to New York at the age of two. He graduated from Rutgers University with a degree in Mathematics and Psychology. In 2005 he moved back to Uruguay where he worked as a teacher and photographer. He spent several of the next years splitting his time between North and South America and climbed a few mountains on each continent.
